Chinese Shares Rally on October 28
 

Major Chinese stock indices ended higher Monday, with the benchmark Shanghai Composite Index up 0.85 percent, at 2,980.05 points.

The Shenzhen Component Index closed 1.46 percent higher at 9,801.87 points.

The combined trading volume of stocks in the two indexes expanded to 520.32 billion yuan (about 73.53 billion U.S. dollars) from 405.8 billion yuan the previous trading day.

Most stocks rose, with gainers outnumbering losers by 1,192 to 239 on the Shanghai bourse and 1,782 to 322 in Shenzhen.

Companies in the industries of blockchain, digital China and domestic software saw robust growth in its share price. Shares of Insigma Technology Co., Ltd. rose by the daily 10-percent limit to 9.85 yuan per share.

Bucking the upward trend, shares in the sectors of breeding and banking led the losses.

The ChiNext Index, China's NASDAQ-style board of growth enterprises, gained 1.74 percent to close at 1,704.42 points.
